چکیده

A change in the relative proportions of a mixture of rubber tire dust and rice husks will cause a change in the mixture’s electrical permittivity and its ability to absorb electromagnetic energy. An openended coaxial probe was used in conjunction with three dielectric mixture equations (the Kraszewski equation, the Landau equation and the Lichtenecker equation) to obtain the dielectric properties of a mixture of rubber tire dust and rice husks (RTDRH) over the frequency range of 7GHz to 13 GHz. Lichtenecker’s equation for dielectrics proved to be a useful practical formulation for determining the effective permittivity of homogeneous dielectric mixtures. The effectiveness of these dielectric mixture equations in determining the effective permittivity of RTDRH was investigated in this study. A newly developed mixture equation was derived based on these dielectric Received 3 May 2012, Accepted 2 July 2012, Scheduled 13 July 2012 * Corresponding author: Ee Meng Cheng ([email protected]).

Useful Relationships between Dielectric Properties and Bulk Density of Powdered and Granular Materials

When the permittivities, or dielectric properties, of granular or powdered solid materials are important, some reliable relationship between the permittivity and the bulk density of the air-particle mixture is required. Examples of such applications include radio-frequency or microwave dielectric heating of these materials and the use of correlations between permittivity and water content of hy...

Dielectric Properties of Biomass/Biochar Mixtures at Microwave Frequencies

Material dielectric properties are important for understanding their response to microwaves. Carbonaceous materials are considered good microwave absorbers and can be mixed with dry biomasses, which are otherwise low-loss materials, to improve the heating efficiency of biomass feedstocks. In this study, dielectric properties of pulverized biomass and biochar mixtures are presented from 0.5 GHz ...

Effect of Calcination Kinetics and Microwave Sintering Parameters on Dielectric and Peizo-Electric Properties of(K0.5Na0.5) NBO3 Ceramics

An efficient solid-state approach was established to synthesize (K0.5Na0.5) NbO3 ceramics using calcination kinetics and microwave assisted sintering. Milling of carbonate and oxide raw materials were carried out for 15h to obtain homogeneous nano particles. The crystallite size of 5.30 nm was obtained for the KNN system after calcination through optimized parameters and observed to be stoichio...
